Bio

Diana Acosta started to play the piano at the music school of her childhood village, Salou (EMMS) with Roser Berengueras. After she continued her Professional Music Studies with Jordi López at Conservatori Professional de Música de Vila-seca. She also took lessons of chamber music with Alan Branch and Heidrun Bergander and Musical Analysis with Ramon Humet. During that time, she participated in the Piano First Music Festival Vila-seca in the edition of 2015 and 2016 and was finalist in the Composition Competition of Vila-seca Conservatory in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

After graduating with the Prize of Honour in Chamber Music with the Argyre Piano Duo in 2015, she entered in the prestigious Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona. There she studied her bachelor's degree with Tensy Krismant. She took courses under reknown Spanish musicians and teachers, such as chamber music with Daniel Ligorio and Tensy Krismant, Composition Techniques with Ben Davies and Analysis with Benet Casablancas.

Her intense activity as soloist and in chamber music brought her to play in beautiful locations, such as Sala Parés in Barcelona with the Argyre Piano Duo or around the Netherlands with the SoundShapes Trio, while developing her skills and experience as a piano teacher for already now eight years. As a speaker, she presented her research project Music of cinema: exclusive for high-budget productions? and she became finalist of the Practice-Based Research Prize at the Research Festival in 2023 with her research: Practicing with Clara. Becoming a more accomplished musician through Clara Schumann’s example on the performance practice).

In 2021, she took her master’s degree at Prince Claus Conservatorium (Groningen) under the guidance of Paul Komen. For two years, she played around the province of Groningen with projects such as the Participatory Concerts with Paul Komen and Nata Tsevereli, Sounds of Music contemporary festival in 2021. In 2023, Diana premiered The Wonders of the Forest as her graduation project.

Diana has had masterclasses with Edith Fischer, Ralph van Raat, Patrick Zygmanowsky, Luis de Moura, Cecilio Tieles, Elsa Kolodin, Daniel Spielgelber, Enrique Bagaría, Fie Schouten, and Alba Ventura, among others.
